Beautiful Australia

Hi there.
I would just like to post this to let you all know just how beautiful my country is, and how lucky i am to live here. I would hope, that one day in the future, you will feel inspired to come and see the beauty for yourself.
Firstly, The amazing Great Barrier Reef.
Which is the largest reef in the world. (2600km / 1600 miles)

Where the great barrier reef meets the rainforest in North queensland is also very beautiful.

I have been scuba diving and snorkelling there many times, and it is my favourite place of all of australia. However, due to global warming, and water pollution, it is currently in great danger of coral bleaching (coral dying).

Next, one of the most commonly identifyable australian icon. Uluru.
Originally called uluru by the native Aboriginal tribes, it was renamed Ayers Rock by the europeans who colonized australia.
However, in the last decade it has been officially renamed to Uluru.

There are also many beautiful outback scenes in Australias largest State, Western Australia.

Now, another of my favourite places in australia, Surfers Paradise.
Surfers paradise is a city located in South Queensland. It is literally, a city that greets the beach. It also has GREAT nightlife.

Now, for the BIG THINGS in australia. In australia, in certain industry-specific towns, certain industries that are central to the towns history are glorified by the use of big things.

For example, i live in a place called Coffs Harbour. The town was, for about 50 years a banana town.
And now, to celebrate, there is a Big Banana.

Now, Australia has some unique and amazing wildlife. Firstly, the Koala. (not a koala bear, as it is not a bear)

They sleep for almost 20 hours a day. i find this quite amazing. I would love to sleep for as long as they do, but they are nocturnal - meaning they are active at night.

And the Kangaroo.
If you dont know what it is, its very hard to explain. And no, to those people who think australians use kangaroos instead of cars (you'd be suprised how many times i have been asked this by foreigners), we do not ride kangaroos.

Also, a bit of trivia, the Kangaroo is the only National fauna that is legally edible.
(however i dislike the taste with much passion.

Well, that is all for the moment. If people seem to like then i will upload more australian beauty.
